What a difference a day makes. Today the wind arrived.
When it gets windy in Patagonia things can get a bit crazy. Sam was blown off his feet today and cut his ankle on some rocks.
With the weather the way it was - savage wind, heavyish cloud and some intermittent showers we satisfied ourselves with doing most of our sightseeing by car on our second full day in the park. Nevertheless the views were still stunning, particularly when the clouds lifted for short periods.
After visiting one of the park offices to get a patch on Samuels leg we made our way to our cabana on the south side of the park. The timing was impeccable with the weather turning nasty. Camping would have been dire this night. As an added benefit Samuel made friends with a family of cats that lived in and around our accommodation.
The town we are staying in has three restaurants, probably five accommodation providers but no grocery shop. Eating out for dinner again. What a shame.

This is where Sam got hurt. Note the water being whipped up on the lake. |
