On the way to Bryce Canyon we stopped for a short but interesting hike around Red Canyon. It's easy to see how Red Canyon got it's name. The heavily eroded formations were similar to those that we would see in Bryce the next day and can be found in various locations in this part of the US Midwest where the highly uplifted land is being gradually worn down around the edges.
The park included a small Visitors Centre and shop where we could find out a bit about the process that created the formations. A short stop but a very interesting one.
