Day 2 was a lunchtime race at Turkenschanzpark, a lovely area a few kilometres from the city centre. The area was about 50% buildings and 50% parkland and the lush park provided some very welcome shelter on what was quite a hot Vienna day. Eric won again and Samuel had a much better time than last night, getting around the whole course without too much trouble.
After the event we took advantage of our unlimited public transport tickets (at least Eric's ticket - Samuel got around free all weekend) to check out the tram and metro system. We paid a quick visit to the centre of town before heading home for an afternoon rest.
Dinner was everyone's favourite meal, Schnitzel. Unlike Munich where we went for quality, we found the fast food Schnitzel joint which put quantity first (actually it was pretty tasty too). Check out what 6 Euro's gets you...
To help digest that massive meat lovers extravaganza we took a post dinner stroll around the city. Starting at the cathedral we wandered around some of the older streets before heading to the Imperial Palace. Seeing the stately old buildings at dusk was quite spectacular.
