Another day and another trip to one of South Kensington's amazing range of free museums. Today it was the Victoria and Albert Museum covering the world of art and design.
Sculpture is well represented with a particularly good range of modern sculpture, some of which might be a bit risqué for this blog.
The arts of Asia also get good coverage. Often this is an area underdone by many western museums. There were a lot of interesting vases, weapons, sculptures and various other items. The Japanese exhibits were particularly varied and informative.
There is a few beautiful modern pieces of glasswork that highlight the glass art section, as well as historical items dating back as far as Roman times.
In some rooms you could find all sorts of treasures...
In other places some amazing watches and gems...
This is impressive (not sure what it does though - maybe someone can read the information below)...
Samuel got a chance to do some dress ups in the clothing section (Elise had a go too). Although we couldn't try them on, there were some famous and memorable outfits on display from various actors, musicians like Elton John, Adam Ant and David Bowie.
We went for a walk before catching the tube home and saw some more art in the form of the famous Marble Arch.
