We are a little bit loath to venture out at night too far from our hotels and too late, with a young child and such a hectic day schedule we just don’t. In Lima you also have to consider safety. However we made an exception for the Parque De La Reserva o Circuito Magico del Agua which is a park full of fountains. These are lit up at night and there is a show where they project light and lasers onto a fountain, using music to tell the story of Peru. It is sort of a mixture of a movie, Christmas lights, fireworks and, well, water.
The music and light projections were emotionally evoking, and it was great fun for kids and adults alike. Sam and Eric got partially soaked walking through a long archway of fountains but the warm weather didn't make this much of an issue.
The different fountains featured different displays of water and lights with the colours constantly changing.
The fountains are one of Lima's biggest attractions only costing a small amount to enter. They definitely should be on the bucket list for anyone visiting Lima.

This wasn't where we got wet. We weren't that silly |
